I was at Atlanta this past weekend and I was wearing my Brian/Red Bull stuff proudly, as I always do. I was walking around and looking and it saddened me that I didn't see that many people, if any at all, wearing Brian/Red Bull stuff. The only time that I have really seen it at the track by a lot of people is on the days of his appearances and signings.
I can't help but wonder why...I mean Brian is a very talented and great driver and person and I just wish that people could see that. I know that one day he will be this big huge star in the sport and there will be tons of people wearing his stuff and supporting him...I just wish that day was now, but all great things come to those who wait.
Anyway...that was just a thought that I had at Atlanta and that I have had a few times before at races that I thought that I would share and see what your guys thoughts were on it...

I feel the exact same way. I'm from Indiana, so we always go to the Brickyard 400. And I wore my I <3 BV shirt to the track. We had some extra time before the race started after we did our souvenir shopping, so my mom and I headed back to the vehicle to put stuff away before we went up to our seats. We were almost to the vehicle when some guy was like, "BV? Who's BV?" I told him Brian Vickers and he basically gave me one of those snort, my-drivers better than your driver kinda things (I'm sure you all understand and have gotten similar responses). But I totally understand. It's sad when you go to the track with your race gear on and they don't even know who's it is. It might be understandable if it was the guys first year in the sport, but Brian?? Com'on he's awesome!!!

Exactly! I am glad that I am not the only one that experiences this. I totally understand where you are coming from and what you mean. He is one of the best out there, so awesome and talented, and such a nice person. I was standing in line for one of his appearences that Sunday at Atlanta and it was for the first 150 people, I was first of course , but I am not even sure that there were 150 people there...luckily more got in line before he got there because to start with there weren't that many and that really made me sad too. But, he has the best fans and some really great fans and he knows that and we know that, so that is all that matters.

No one's posted on this since November, but I want to post on it...
I too am from Indiana and when I went to the Brickyard in 2005 I had the same responses! I had people telling me I didn't know how to pick drivers and yada-yada, and I just held my head high and said "We'll see...He can't be all that bad when he's won a championship." But on the other hand, I have converted some people to him too...So that's good...
I work at Dollar General and we had the HUGE BV cutout (which is now in my room, the fiance doesn't like it haha) and I got all of them watching for him and stuff now too....So it does work both ways, which is really good...

It's kind of awesome this thread was started, because what you are talking about is exactly why this site was created. To get fans like you guys to realize you can change the way people look at Brian, and at us for being fans of his. He really IS an amazing driver and person, and since there are less of us, we have to be louder about declaring that.
Glad you guys are willing to be those voices.
